Demerara sugar

A coarse, golden, caramel-flavoured raw cane sugar, good for adding crunch as a topping or depth of flavour to bakes and sauces.

Sprinkle it over crumbles, cakes and biscuits before baking for a crunchy, caramelised top, since its coarse crystals don't fully dissolve.
