Mixed spice

A warm, sweet blend of ground spices (typically cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and clove) used in fruit cakes, buns and other British baking.

Add it with the dry ingredients at the start of mixing, and store the jar away from light and heat to preserve its aroma.
