Vanilla essence

A flavouring used to add warm, sweet vanilla notes to cakes, custards and desserts, generally a synthetic alternative to natural extract.

Add it to wet ingredients before mixing so it distributes evenly, and use a little more than you would of natural extract if a recipe calls for the latter.
