Ingredients: 1 cup flour; 2/3 cup brown sugar (packed); 1 tsp baking soda; 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice; 1/4 cup nut pieces (optional); 1/2 tsp salt; 1/4 cup shortening; 1 cup applesauce; 1 egg; 1/2 cup raisins

Ingredients

1 cup flour
2/3 cup brown sugar (packed)
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1/4 cup nut pieces (optional)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup applesauce
1 egg
1/2 cup raisins

Method

Grease pan-mix all ingredients. Spread in pan. Bake about 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool-frost-cut into bars.

Browned Butter Icing Directions.
3Tbls. butter-heat until golden-remove from heat and blend in 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar-1tsp. vanilla and 1Tbl.milk. Beat until smooth and spread onto bars.
